Spiderman 2: Mary Jane Is Mister Fantastic

Either Kirsten Dunst's right left arm is five feet long and has two elbows, or someone, somewhere, figured no one would notice. We are that no one!

Thanks again to Ken Justice.

Um, isn't that her left arm? Which of course would make it a little more believable.

Howdy!

It has been a while since I discovered this awesome blog of yours, "Photoshop Disasters".
It's unbelievable what we can do with Photoshop... And more unbelievable how some people can screw up so bad in certain projects.

Of course, as a student for Comunication and Multimedia Design, I'm saying this and laughing about some of the examples you give us, but there's always that little fear of, someday, a mistake in my work will end up in your blog (I'll work hard to prevent that from happening... but you never know, right?!).

About this particular one, I'd like to say to the first "anonymous" that I don't think anybody took that arm as being her right arm.
They probably wrote "right" but they were thinking in "left"... That can happen, sometimes.
It's really only a matter of watching the position of the hand.

But the main thing is, even her left arm had to be really really long and, as they say in the text, she'd have to have 2 elbows only in that arm. It probably would work better if we could just see her fingers and a small part of her hand (instead of having that glimpse of her forearm that automatically gives us the perspective on where the arm "is going"). If so, her hand could be in that position without looking so "Fantastic". lol

Anyways... I looked up for that poster, and it seems the problem is we can't see the whole image. If we could see the rest of it (horizontally speaking, of course), I think it makes it much more real... So... In the end, it's just a problem with the resizing for print. Not really a problem with the actual Photoshop work.

Stay cool, everyone!
Nice blog... and keep up the excellent work!
Peace ;p

If this is the "full" image Lion is referring to, it still looks really silly. :)

yea, her arm would have to be made of rubber.

When we suppose this is the left arm, it doesn't look so bad, don't you think?

The pic that anonymous posted actually looks completely believable. Seems as though a different hand was used - just look at the thumb and ring finger.

Seems as though 2 or more versions were created...

Reading nitpicking comments on a light-hearted blog makes me realise how much better the world would be with the ability to post nitpicking comments removed.

HAHAHA or she's the mom from the Incredibles. Stretch!

That second "full" picture definitely has a different hand than the goofy double-elbowed one used in this post, so I don't think it should count. Clearly they re-worked the image for their special edition after realizing how silly it originally looked!

this is a film about a man who erm... had an accident involving radioactive waste and a spider bite and became part man/psrt spider.

and you're worried about realism?

...okay!

i've seen wide angle camera lenses cause more unrealistic distortions than this.

get over it.

ERH um this is obvious; someone was flying, and mid air, places their hand on spiderman, but was cut out, duh!

I'm sorry but this image is completely wrong. The Sun as depicted here is clearly only 65% hydrogen; when in fact it should be more like 74%.

For everyone saying that it could be her left arm, please see a doctor to check the placement of your thumbs. Thank You

@tephlon

I think I can say with some authority that my left thumb faces outward in that position. We are talking Kirsten's left, not the viewer's.

Thanks for the hint ... this mistake i dont't see until now ;)

Yeah, that arm does have to be made of rubber or giant or something, but another thing: Spidey isn't shooting any web in this picture. He should've hit the ground by now.
