Sorry, man -- this is another weak one. Jolie has really thin arms these days, and they're making them look thinner with the really bright light on the outside edge (right side of the picture).
As for the length...
Okay, I point my arm straight down and lean forward. Bring my forearm up so my thumb is in front of my nose like the picture. Cock my head down a bit....
Yup. The first joint of my thumb is a bit above the tip of my nose. Just like the picture.
The only disaster here is that Hollywood is convinced that weirdly slim women are attractive.
Her head is also ctrl-v'ed in there.

It's definitely not as bad as the one Frank linked to... Where they tore her head off and then reattached it at a seriously odd angle!

i'm not so sure about that. Check the other poster linked by frank (which has an even more obviously comped head). If you count the lines of binary code you can see tattooed on her forearm and match them up with the TEARS tattoo on her upper arm, they don't line up.
In this B/W shot, i count 9 nine lines of code including a partial near the bottom of the image, but the ninth line of code in the other poster would never line up with the bottom of the E of TEARS.

WTF!!! This is just all kinds of weird. It does indeed look as if the left arm is attached to her right shoulder. And when compared alongside the poster Frank linked to it just becomes even more bizarre...Geez!

she has freakishly long arms, fingers (thumb included) and an anatomy model's elbow. hence the weird posters. oh, and stephen r, you don't fool me, you know you'd do her anytime.
She actually really does have gross arms like that. Just look at any photos of her in a sundress with her arms at her sides...
Actually, my thumbs can do that but you'd have to be double-jointed. Either way I agree it doesn't look "right." It also seems like the gun is far more in focus than her hand.

It looks as though they pasted the head and hair over the body, because the hair -- especially in the one Frank links to -- is clearly not hanging correctly. The arm doesn't look attached to the body.
I think the long length of the forearm is very much in question. In both posters it appears to be exaggerated, especially if you flip between those and other photos of her.
This was amusing at first, but now you just fucking suck. So fucking boring. Pointless. You are grasping to be interesting. Just stop.

Not to poke fun at anorexia, the arm certainly appears to belong to a woman with anorexia. One sneeze and the arm would fracture. Great blog, just found it.

has anyone actually paid attention to Jolie's disgustingly thin and veiny uber-long arms? this poster really doesn't look anatomically inaccurate, except for maybe the thumb.

I second that. She's really anorexic thin these days. Not to mention they completely ignored the first rule of figure composition by cutting off her elbow joint, making her forearm look completely detached and alien. And cutting off her neck to make her head look pasted on (which it probably was anyway). God, i'm working for the wrong company. This probably took them hours to create, i could've made this trash in 10 minutes.
efrain: Look carefully at the forearm- in particular, the wrist tendon. While it can sometimes trace quite a long ways down the forearm when the wrist is tensed, I don't know of any that have a jog in them.
Sorry, but that forearm- anorexic or not- has been stretched. I'm not sure whether it was to fit the tatoos in, wich is a possibility, but I can say with pretty strong assurance the forearm was stretched when they needed more image to cover the poster's unplanned for length when the original photo ran out of arm.
It's definitely her left arm on her left side, you can see where her hair comes down in between. It's just a bad angle in that case.

You can see that if she folded her arm up more, the 7th line of binary code would line up with the E on her upper arm, just like in this picture, so I don't see anything wrong there.
Her thumb definitely looks strange, though.

The most important thing is that this picture definitly looks wrong, even ift it wasnt manipulated they should have in order to fix that disgusting looking arm. (besides, I dont like the lighting, e.g. the gun, at all)
IMHO the arm ist stretched: It looks akward and unnatural an furthermore all the tattoos look distorted, especially the code digits an the last curve of the tribal on her wrist.
I guess it's just me, but I don't see anything wrong with this one!

Has anyone considered that it may not be an arm at all? I remember an episode of Babylon 5 where one of the characters picked things up with an appendage that was neither arm nor leg - and these days, Angelina does have something a little alien about her...

There's actually nothing wrong with her thumb. My boyfriend can't understand how i can't bend my thumb from that first joint. It looks wrong and deformed but it's not uncommon. And her arm is fine too. Mine looks just the same.

For everyone on here who has commented on the left/right arm mix up... its just the angles. If you actually payed attention to her tatoos you would know that both the binary code and the "TEARS" are on her left arm. Neither of those tatoos appear on her right arm. If you actually saw the movie, you would know that.
Actually... I can get my thumb to look -exactly- like that, it's not even difficult. Though no way is my arm that long :P
