Azoogle: This Was Really Well Thought Out In Every Way

Well these Azoogle guys look pretty legit. Look at that huge check! There's absolutely no way that's not real, and I know 'cos I'm an expert at faking pictures and stuff.

Thanks to Dave E; original is here!

On the bright side, at least we know HE wasn't 'shopped in.

And yeah, looks like "Hunderd" to me too.

martinkorben said...

it does say "hunderd" --

ahahahah !

Tina Silva said...

Sorry but that is SOOO FAKE!! You can easily tell it's a phoney since if you look at the hummer, you see the reflection of his arms out but he's holding nothing.

geoff said...

they should have at least roto'd he's fingers over the check, you know, so it looks like it's not just floating in mid air...

Anonymous said...

@tina

Not only that - notice his shadow :D

graduatedlearning said...

I'm kinda loving the lack of shadow and reflection...that and the fact that the check looks like clip art, not even a photograph of a real check.

Anonymous said...

there's no shadow of the cheque on the ground :-D

dalas v. said...

Now that's a photoshop disaster.

steve said...

Thanks Tina Silva for the explanation, I was hurting my brain trying to work this one out.

Not sure where to send this stuff, but have you seen this political add that is an obvious green screen job made to look like the husband and wife supposedly have this great homelife but it's obvious she isn't even there?

Not sure if green screen screwups qualify for PSD but there you are.

Haha, "Vampire Check" was the first thing that popped to my mind as well.

No reflection, and no shadow to boot, haha. I can maybe see missing the reflection (it's a bit more subtle) but come on, the shadow? Puh-lease, that's too obvious to miss.

Oh and yeah, I think it does say "Hunderd" as well.

Tri-Fail for Azoogle's photochopper(s).

Chase said...

This is so bad that it almost seems intentional ... like maybe to drum up some attention.

Anonymous said...

The shadow is not there.

Slater said...

Gonna gets me a Hummer with my 5 hunderd dollars.

Would you expect anything more from a company named AzoogleAds?

Tracy said...

Maybe this is a vampire company that sucks money out of other people so they can write some vampire checks.

The designer didn't even look like he could be bothered. Love it

Rhody said...

Oh lawd

Alex said...

It's even funnier when you notice the shadow.

Anonymous said...

This one could win an award

AnnieMcPhee said...

Oh come on, I have a huge check for a hunderd dollars right now that doesn't cast a shadow - this is NOT photoshopped and it's definitely not a disaster. Jeesh.

Queen of the Universe said...

Actually, his fingers were shopped in as well. Look at the angle of his arms in the shadow as well as the reflection. They don't match the position of his hands on the check.

Anonymous said...

dude where can i get some of those shoes?!!

also. away from the subject. where can i find some good photoshop tutorials? i've already checked out adobe tv. thought this would be a good place to get a suggestion.

chad;wick said...

his shadow doesn't line up with his body,
and the check doesn't have a shadow.

AnnieMcPhee said...

At first I thought they were giving him money for alopecia research. Over a hunderd even.

Max said...

The "cheque" looks like a friggin' pop-up from some bogus website...

I like the fact that he has only one shoe, mirrored.

Anonymous said...

Check out the full-size image. They weren't even trying.

It's a failure on sooooo many levels.

Anonymous said...

oh thats bad. then I realized there was no check in the reflection.

double whammy anyone?

Rhody said...

Hah, with the full size image you can definitely see how badly photoshopped his hand is. xP

Anonymous said...

and the check number in the corner doesn't match the check number in the micr and the micr isn't even straight -- it stair steps. haha.

i think they spent all their money renting the hummer and forgot to budget in a designer or printing a giant check. clearly even a spell checker wasn't in the budget.

Anonymous said...

wait a minute........ triple whammy. no shadow either? COME ON!!!!!!

Kinho Pizzato said...

For me the worse is the hunderd. Would you buy from a company that cannot even spell? Oh... and not forgetting the fact that he is using sandals?

Anonymous said...

Looking at the guy on the bike. Is he riding on the grass and about to ride into the lake?

Anonymous said...

look at his right hand in the full screen that is linked above, what a mess!

Patrice said...

This really takes the cake. Not only did can this idiot not understand the basic concept of shadows, he also can't spell!

The model has such a smart ass look on his face. Hahah.

Etna said...

This is fantastic, especially the full size version.

Anonymous said...

think they purposely misspelled it so idiots wouldn't try to print and cash it in?

Deb Clague said...

Legendary.

Deb Clague said...

Has anyone been to the Azoogle website? Apparently they are a division of "Epic Fail Advertising".

Anonymous said...

not too mention, of COURSE all giant sized checks would have the account and routing numbers of the bank account with $500,000 in it, and they would post it on the internet. Definition of Epic Fail

Jay said...

Oh yeah! And how bad it is!
First thing I did was check his reflection in the shiny car and like Tina already said...
But people who trick other people bad to make money instead of inventing something by themselves don't think so far. Don't need to be a perfectionist in this business, just shallow.

Brunswick said...

No shadow, no reflection, typo on cheque, ugly customer. Good luck cashing it, dude!

JRSM said...

I love this blog so much!

Ariadna said...

OMG!!! THIS IS HILARIOUS!!! THE SHADOW... TRHE REFLECTION IN THE CAR... THE LETTER THE WHOLE THING!!! AMAZING!!! HAHAHA

Anonymous said...

its real, the check is paper, so it makes a thin shadow, and reflection, but if you look close, you can see the fine line of real.

Charlene said...

The MICR (American on a Canadian cheque, not in OCR characters, crooked) makes the mess even sweeter.

Mad Izatie said...

LOL! just plain sad...i feel sorry for the guy in the photo tho. innocent bystander of a drive by photoshopper!!

1) His right hand is so horribly cropped you can see the pixelated edges.

2) The shadows of the cheque -lack thereof-

3) Left hand is not even gripping the check at all.

4) The cheque is fake to high heaven. Have you ever seen a cheque so neat and straight? Not to mention the lack of shadows on the cheque itself or anything!

Anonymous said...

man, you rock! this one's a winner!

Shane said...

I don't get the sandal comments. They are lit differently with correct shadows, so I say they are real.

The shadow shows his left hand with the fore finger out to hold the edge of the check to be added. They decided to enlarge the check, I'm thinkng.

Also the shadow and reflections have the arms higher up.

And I can't believe none of you mentioned they missed the two other reflections of him in the rear rim.

Nathaniel said...

By far the funniest post so far, keep up the good work!

Anonymous said...

That is poor. What's sadder is all the people making bullet lists of the obvious. Oh, and the obligatory 'I can do that with my [insert current topic here] right now' comments; which ceased to be funny..well, they just ceased to be funny.

John Braine said...

Anonymous said...

This ones really flawed .. I tried photoshopping it to make it a bit more realistic just for a challenges sake ... but couldnt and the reflection would give it away anyway
The edges on it are too sharp and it looks too crisp ..(and thats only the beginning...)

Holli said...

They didn't even bother to make it look like his fingers are curled around it...wow. I'd be surprised if this took more than 30 seconds.

flanagan said...

For those of you who are web designers/developers, go to their website. Note the design and layout. Then check the source code. I'm not sure which is more of a disaster, this image or their site.

Anonymous said...

lol there's no reflection and no shade from the cheque itself idiots.

Anonymous said...

If you click on the original enough times you get a big 2k-pixel version where you can really see the chop-job on his fingers and the straight-line artificiality of the check.

Also, who buys a new luxury vehicle BEFORE they cash their big check? How spurious is that.

I wish people would read the comments - some of them at least - before adding their own. Jesus. Why do you assume that, after 78 comments have been made, no-one has yet noticed that the fucking cheque has been photoshopped onto the picture?

Chris Sam said...

Yeah they said it was an advertisement for their site, 2 questions though: 1. Why not use a real person with a real experience unless this was clearly only to mislead people in an ad (even admitting it was ps)? 2. If they knew it was god awful amateurish 6th grader photoshopping, why use it to represent your company for ads; wouldn't they have known seeing this puke of photoshopping would make the consumer be instantly suspicious and laugh at whoever the retards were who wasted actual money on ad space..?

I'm simply baffled. How that graphic could have got approval from anyone -- even Helen Keller -- is completely beyond me.

This is truly one of the most stupefyingly bad shop jobs I've ever seen, though to be fair the photographer wasn't paying attention either -- s/he should have framed the shot with the model posed behind the hood of the Hummer with his arms raised above his head holding the phantom check, so there wouldn't have been a shadow issue, and the reflection problem might have been less obvious or nonexistent.

But damn. Just ... damn.

rob-t-firefly said...

Personally, I know when I get my picture taken I always make it a point to hold whatever's in my hands at a 100% straight, pixel-perfect horizontal position.

Also on the huge version, you can see the epic font failure where they neglected to fix the kerning on the "script" and make the letters actually connect up with one another.

This glorious thing has been my introduction to Photoshop Disasters. Needless to say, you've a new fan.

Anonymous said...

Just check the reflection on the hummer! peace out!

Anonymous said...

Awesome detective work, jackasses. What tipped you off to this cunning fraud? Was it your expert knowledge of Photoshop? Or did you see the image in its original context, and read the text that said that the check was [obviously] a fake...

Some people care about Photoshop, some people have lives.

Enjoy your Photoshop.

Anonymous said...

Noticed that folks checked the MICR/OCR, but did anyone run the account number to see if they used a real account?

Be a shame if someone sucked hunderds out because they broadcast their acct info...

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

@anonymous 1:53am:

...and some people who don't care about photoshop come to a photoshop related site to troll and bash on the people who do care.

Some people have lives you were saying?

(yeah yeah I'm not much better now am I)

On the ad, the blurb about saying it was on purpose sounds suspiciously like the response received from new artists who get a critique and can't handle it "but I gave her no cranium on purpose"... and after all this I still have no idea what that company is or does. Great Advertising.

AnnieMcPhee said...

You know what's really funny? What's really funny is that the same jerkoffs who bitch and moan when they don't think there's a problem with the picture, when faced with a picture that OBVIOUSLY has multiple, disastrous problems, instead turn to saying "You idiots are so lame for listing the things wrong with this picture; God, get a life!"

It seems they are only happy when shitting on people's blogs - whether there IS or ISN'T a photoshop disaster. Good lord.

Anonymous said...

you got the shadow AND the reflection of someone holding a vampire cheque that is faster than it's own shadow hoohhohohohohoho

Anonymous said...

Oh, sob, they're not following the flock. Come on Annie, where's your sense of humour?

Why should people have the right to take the piss out of images - and also the people in them, in this case - but not out of the ridiculous comments people make?

There will always be hecklers; it's down to the comedian to put them in their place. Sorry, they seem to be absent.

AnnieMcPhee said...

The flock? Seems to me the assholes outnumber the fans here, so I dunno what "flock" you're talking about. But it's still hilarious how seriously you take this...a f***ing humor blog. I kid you not, it's genuinely funny to me when they start in, and even funnier when it's self-contradictory. As far as the comedian, seems to me he doesn't bother answering, though I'd say he gets some laughs posting things that will obviously piss off the trolls (then when they rise to the bait, posting something that no one could possibly argue with, so they have to find something else to whine and cry about LOL), so it's all win-win :)

Anonymous said...

I must have missed the point where humour entered the ring. If you could just circle the funny bits, that might help..oh, you already have?

I find it very unlikely that it was intentionally Photochopped. If that was so, a joke about it would probably appear in the ad somewhere, or it'd be even more obvious, like with a giant white mess around the outside of the check. It's possible that it was intentional, I guess, but it's much more likely that they realized what a joke they were and claimed it was intentional. Like William Shatner acting like he's known everyone was making fun of his toupee all these years.

Did anyone also notice the blue sign in the background? The sign is at a slant while the text on it is completely straight

Y'all don't be naive! I have a few bogus checks on my desk, totaling almost $600,000! Among them are a bogus Google check.... Looks very real, but I checked the routing number, which is bogus. I also have a Bank of America check which looks real, but isn't (confirmed with BoA).... and even a bogus IRS check! Beware! There are scammers everywhere! And most of them seem to be Nigerian!
