Ah whatever, its well worth the coming few days odd looks... then again not nearly as many as Van Helsing.... Halen would receive.....
I don't know whether there was photoshopping done here, but I can tell you, the guy is unbelievably fit (for someone his age or not). I saw him in concert a couple of years ago, and he had his shirt off the entire time. There was not an ounce of fat on him. It was crazy.
btw it would take a few 100 to build the guy in my icon, Will Burroughs has been dead for nearly 10 years, it ain't me.
Burroughs... oddly relevant to this blog being 1 of the co founders of 'Cut ups'....

In Firefox, cutting and pasting the URLS works just fine, even when they're cut off.
I'm mainly looking at his neck and thinking "man, that'd look strange in real life if he really had a neck like that" ;). It looks kinda long, and in a somewhat strange shape.(Obviously because of the photoshop, but still, thinking of it as if it wasn't. Outside of the body itself, that tells me alot about it being photoshopped.)
Partial URL's do not open by some kind of voodoo magic.
That's not how the internet or firefox works.
You are either pasting the entire link in, or the page is cached already since you have previously visited it and is auto-completing or something.

Despite the likely photoshopping, the disappointing thing is that Ed has been sporting a short haircut since about May of '07, so either this is a really old cover, or an old photo on a recent cover. I'm also really surprised that none of the people posting links have suggested checking out images from van-halen.com, the band's official web site.
Ed isn't "fit". He just doesn't have any body fat. Being a chainsmoking alcoholic with a meth habit will do that to you.
Looks to me like they 'shopped face, hair, chest, and hand/guitar together from different photos... hell, different decades.

Honestly, this one isn't a Photoshop disaster beyond the usual combination of cover-of-magazine stuff and too much face makeup.
He actually does look like this now.
To the person that said Eddie's now sporting a short haircut -- yes, this is an old cover.
Look here for the cover from February of this year.
This is a picture from March and while Eddie looks pretty good -- new teeth, haircut, tanned -- his figure in that pic doesn't look quite the same as it does on the Guitar World magazine cover. Besides, it's clear that his magazine used an old photo of his face and shopped it onto a body. Could be his real body, actually, but the head definitely doesn't match.
Just when you thought it was safe to get out of the barrel.

Why is the shadow under his nose so deep it's almost black, yet that on his neck/shoulder is not as dark? Also, the shadow on his neck/shoulder seems to indicate a light source above him, but the shadows on his body don't bear that out.

Honestly, I don't see it as that bad. It could be his body, when comparing it to recent photos. Hell, he even has the tattoo in the right place (on his arm, the guitar covers most of it though).
That's actually what he looks like. It's not a photoshop disaster.
Eddie Van Halen is one of the best guitarist, ever. God Bless him. He still rocks.
