Homebase: More Like Freebase

Neo: Whoa, furniture.
Trinity: What did you just say?
Neo: Nothing, but the furniture is half-deleted.
Morpheus: Uh oh.
Neo: What is it?
Trinity: Semi-deleted furniture is usually a glitch in the Matrix. It happens when they change something.

Thanks to Ryan R! Original is here.

Was shot on a planet with two suns, it seems.

I lost my security deposit on an apartment once for leaving the carpet looking like that... I had a dog and he would use the clone tool in the corner no matter how many times I whacked him with a newspaper.

Dressers half off!

And what about the perpective... Look at this bed! Terrible!!!

The Artist said...

Not to mention three very different lighting source directions!

Seems to be taken on Tatooine again.

There is something screwed up with the perspective on the bed- the cover is in two places.

And then there's the obvious dresser.

From original: "£429.98, Was £489.99"

Please, sir, keep erasing until it costs 300, we are on a budget!

The light source looks ok to me, comming almost direct from the west looking at the perpective at the photo.

The three different "exterior" light sources are:

1. Window light down and in from yard casts across cabinet ending on wall next to bed (suspect that it could make that turn with the cabinet there)

2. the lighting on the floor foreground is coming from the left like another window, but at a sunset-horizon-line angle (and the blinds would have to be hung wrong- vertically), how come the foot-board doesn't cast a shadow on the bed?

3. the hat boxes on top of the cabinet have very distracting shadows, coming from another light source (albeit reflected)

(4th interior) all furniture show lighting from above

LOL @ "Dressers half off!"

helen said...

this is such lazy photoshopping

helen said...

what laziness

Anonymous said...

The kick molding/wall to the left of the dresser is a few inches lower than the kick molding/wall under the window...

helen said...

so lazy

The cast of the shadow looks terrible.

The window is set back into an alcove, that is why the base moulding seems shifted. The alcove was probably the impetus behind the poor erasures. They didn't want the corner of the dresser sticking out in front of the window.

All of the other problems are still problems, though.

How long before a troll comes in to say that this is normal, and is not a disaster, but some real artistic furniture made by a Zimbabwe artist, and sold before the first world war !!......

Anonymous said...

this is so not a disaster! i can do all of this with my bedroom furniture right now! just take a chainsaw and see what happens! THINK before you post, people!

hehe. ;)

Yes off course when we want to remove something of from something we use feathering, that makes sense....

If you're going to make pointless posts to promote your plagiarism, be sure to get the url right

I see what you did there.

The poor artist probably meant the image to be cropped at the window, and didn't expect anyone to post it as is.

The sad thing is, that would be a really cool dresser, one I would probably buy if it actually existed.

The Artist said...

You can get it, if you're in England, it looks like they have hundreds of stores all over the UK!

Ready for our next picture! haha!!!!!!!!

The wall is making me squeech :S

David said...

The sad thing is that what they cloned out of the dresser shows some real skill. Just...why not finish the job? Even if they just cropped the picture at the window, the lighting problems wouldn't seem so bad.

OMG that's hilarious!

Meh. My dresser can do that right now. So can my suns.

The original has been fixed, or at least cropped. Apparently someone there reads your blog.

What I find strange about that entire catalogue is that none of the bed ensembles are very well-described, yet customers are supposed to shop online. Is it wood? Laminated pressboard? Cheap plastic crap from China? There's no way to know, and I'm surprised that's even legal.

Anonymous said...

it quite clearly says wood.

Filipa said...

Aww where are the hate comments?

I want a dresser like that for my room, it would be so handy :/

One of the most important items in a bedroom is furniture. Bedroom furniture usually consists of the cot where the bed is usually kept. Other important items include a lampshade that one might find useful for reading in bed Similarly the bed should consist two sets of bed and pillowcases. If necessary you may have a mattress. Many of the bedrooms also have a full sized mirror. Antique Bedroom Furniture http://antique-bedroom-furniture.blogspot.com

Charlene said...

No, it doesn't actually say wood. It says wood products.

cheap pressboard crap, I suppose. At that price what would you expect?
