Zoo: A Shadow Of A Doubt

Obviously she's been at the shadow pies.

Props to Mitchell, original is here [NSFW].

Yeah her shadow was eating more than her,

Alejo said...

I would also do her shadow.

Is that not the shadow of her elbow? Still funny though.

Oh my!!

A friend of mine who immediately went to see if there were any other interesting gaffes in that series reports that photo #2 is evern more unnerving.

Anonymous said...

I call you on this one Photoshop Disasters… If you watch the video of the shoot, you can clearly see shadows like this being cast as Imogen wiggles about. It's just the odd angles at which she's lit – not a retouching gaff at all, IMO.

I've, er, watched the video twice. Just to be sure.

Anonymous said...

Okay. Watched it a third time. *blushes* Maybe she is a little curvier in some poses, but not all the time.

Seamyst said...

If you look at her left shoulder (our right), you can see that her shoulder and the shadow don't match, either. The shadow-shoulder is higher, like she's lifting her shoulder, but the actual shoulder is lower and more rounded.

Anonymous said...

Er, if you watch the video, you can clearly see the bulges they've removed. I still would though.

Anonymous said...

"Is that not the shadow of her elbow? Still funny though." - emily

You are joking right?

What they created in photoshop did not naturally cast that shadow.

Anonymous said...

HA HA,didn't recognise her as that Welsh girl from Big Brother UK . check out the video at Zoo,those knickers are made of pretty strong stuff holding all that in.shocking lighting by the way .

Anonymous said...

It´s definitely retouched and if they hadn´t forgotten that shadow it would have been a good job...
I also watched the video (for research purposes only, of course!) and you can clearly see that those tight knickers do dig a bit into her hips.

She is a babe though, and not fat at all imo.

Anonymous said...

AND she's got a belly button, hard to find these days.

then you have missed this:

wow!
holy crap, that is magnificent.

neolith said...

BTW, how come the shadow is higher than her when her body is clearly lit from above (see nose shadow)?

Anonymous said...

neolith: two different lights? one below and one above.

Brunswick said...

Have you considered, judging by the light source, that they haven't touched her hips?

They've just edited out a pinkie finger the SIZE OF A PRUSSIAN SALAMI!

SilentMotion said...

Here's a (safe) screenshot from the video to confirm the chop.

screenshot

Also what IS up with that lighting scheme? Plays wierd games with your head, ever pre-photoshop it isn't a particularly flattering shadow

Anonymous said...

That shadow just seems weird to me, like it was placed. I didnt watch the video, but I wonder if the shadow was retouched more than the girl, maybe not so much a photoshop disaster, but a photoshop prank.

The hip shadows on both sides have a little too perfect gradients.

could be wrong.

Anonymous said...

yeah, look at pic 2 of 7 on there, her shoulder shadows and the weird little things they did to try to make shadows of the flips in her hair.

Anonymous said...

Another picture for breast implants disasters!

Anonymous said...

hahahahahaha

Anonymous said...

why on earth are you all looking at the shadows anyhow.....!!!???

Anonymous said...

So. Fake.

crazy-gabrielle said...

Oh my gosh, that is so freaking amazing.

Anonymous said...

Do you people even understand how rasterized images work? If they had edited her body (which would be IN THE WAY of her shadow) there's no way her shadow would 'stay in place.' This is obviously (for whatever reason) intentional.

Even in the other photos it's obvious that these 'shadows' were created after the fact.

txb said...

That's not a disaster. My girlfriend's sister's shadow does the same thing.

AnnieMcPhee said...

"Even in the other photos it's obvious that these 'shadows' were created after the fact."

Nope. I've watched the video and that's where the shadows are, and how they look. In the video you can clearly see that her hips are considerably larger than in this new shopped version; they slimmed them quite a bit. Her bikini bottom cuts pretty deeply into her flesh, leaving a "ballooning" effect on top and bottom, that is shopped out. Sorry, even an amateur knows beyond a shadow of a doubt what happened here.

Anonymous said...

SimulatedPerson has it right, pic 6 of 50 in the "50 Best British Boobs! gallery takes the cake. Almost as bad as that phantom hand a few days back.

http://www.zootoday.com/girls/archive/2008/02/01/50-best-british-boobs.htm?slideshow=true&slideImage=5

Anonymous said...

Shadow pies!!!!!

Anonymous said...

The disaster is the fact that they edited a good portion of the woman off and did not edit the shadow of her true shape. (how is that not obvious?)

Intentional? It could be if the artist either did not like the model or the fact they gave her an instant diet exercise program. And they decided to get some revenge by leaving her pre-photoshop-diet shadow in. Which would still be a disaster.

Seriously? intentional? I want you to slowly step away from the photo-editing software and don't make any sudden moves towards the keyboard.

I do however appreciate how humorous these posts are and the original disaster!

Anonymous said...

Yup - that pic 6 of 50 is WAAAYYY worse. That one belongs on this blog. Her arm is straight up missing!

http://www.zootoday.com/girls/archive/2008/02/01/50-best-british-boobs.htm?slideshow=true&slideImage=5

AnnieMcPhee said...

Yeah that pic is awesomely bad. No arm lol.

Anonymous said...

Actually, on photo 2 of 7 her hips are as wide as her shoulders... On this pic (7 of 7), they're substantially thinner. Either she can fold her pelvis, or she's been given a squeeze ;)

designerdisasters.com said...

britian top 50 plain looking white women with implants. mmm... mmm... freshen ya drink guvna!

pic 23 is also very strange. this set is a goldmine for photoshop disasters.

Eric said...

Check out her right shoulder. The line between torso and arm goes all the way up.

Anonymous said...

Judging from the video, she's got a bit of extra 'meat' to her, but it's from unpleasant. It's a shame they feel it necessary to remove these bits... it's just like Dove's 'real beauty' video; proves just how much people lust after a false reality.

Gas said...

Oh God! This is hilarious! XD

zedzdead said...

Does my shadow look big in this?

Anonymous said...

Shadow Pies. LMAO!!!

chesca said...

This actually made me 'lol' ..oh dear!

bookmole said...

Picture 4 of the Best British Boobs scares me. More even than the missing arm. That woman is not human, I tell you - not human at all.

And it is very sad reading the comments on the Zoo site. It must lower ones IQ looking at nekkid pictures. By gazillions of points!

serious said...

This is another pic of her (kind of NSFW): http://www.zootoday.com/pub/21publish/g/girls/imogen_thomas_02.jpg

Look at the shadow(s) of her right sided hip... same here!

Tamara said...

MwahaHAHA! Just discovered this blog. So funny. I'm going to spam everyone (the ones who won't mind, i.e. males) with that pic.

Anonymous said...

yeah, I don't think they edited the chick, I think they edited the shadow.. it looks way too fake.

More like a "Photoshoped photoshop disaster"

The Voice of Reason said...

Fake shadow, but believable.

photoxris said...

Yea. definitely photoshopped some cinnamon rolls out of that one. Gotta remember to get the shadow too... i don't even think that's the real shadow. it doesn't seem soft enough.

No it's not the shadow from her elbow. The girl has some pounds on her. Put her in string underwear like that and you're bound to have belly cleavage. You can see it in Photo 2, where she's wearing the wider strap underwear. She's got some extra weight on that butt. strait up.

Anonymous said...

Check out the shadow of her shoulder, it's going in a different direction!

Anonymous said...

I notice that Zoo has taken the photo off their slideshow now... It's also their number one most viewed article!

Here's the correct link to the screencap from the video incorrectly posted above: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a177/danny_sm/zoo.jpg

why would the shadow stay there... was it multi-layered or something... or did they add the shadow in to make it look artsy fartsy... this picture really confuses me...

Did You Know? said...

i don't think its a shadow of her elbow. i think its just a paint. right?

Anonymous said...

Hey, how does she get that black oblong to stay there?

Tanya said...

Dear Zoo,

If you intend to have someone retouch all the photos on your website, ensure that the photographer or videographer moves the model FORWARD from the backdrop. This will eliminate all those pesky shadows and you won't have to worry about them not matching the shape of the model's body.

This is basic studio photography stuff that even the people you hire to butcher the appearance of beautiful women ought to be aware of.

Best of luck with your future endeavours.

Anonymous said...

haha the actual picture on the site where it originally came came was removed :)

LetsEatLunch said...

lol hahahah, i laughed for like a whole mintue when i saw that.

Anonymous said...

the photo on the site is removed
too bad, but the second picture looks also odd

Anonymous said...

She really isn't that fat. Look up the site and watch her video. she doesn't look fatter in the vid than on that picture.

AnnieMcPhee said...

Who said she was fat? She most certainly has a lot more flesh (that was bitten into a lot more deeply by the bikini bottom) than in the OP picture, though. There was serious balloonage above and below the bikini strap on both sides in the video, in every pose - the shadow is accurate and they removed all the ballooning. That doesn't make her fat, it makes the picture badly shopped - they should have adjusted the shadows.

nmodel said...

thats good

Anonymous said...

Really bad disaster, but I'm more dismayed about the fact that they felt they needed to photoshop her thin in the first place, and all the jokes about her shadow.

Am I the only one who thinks that everything else being equal a girl with a little bit of pudge (like the amount in her shadow) is actually more attractive than one that's totally slim and "athletic" looking?

vickyvickerson said...

They have changed the shadow on the right now but you can still see the left hand fatty shadow!!! hahahahaha

RipiRip.Org said...

thanks

grass_sandwiches said...

This made me feel a lot better about not going on one of those "summer diet" things i keep reading about.

flink said...

I looked today and it seems they've removed that particular shot. However, they've left one as bad, if not worse:

(Safe for work)

Anonymous said...

The photo is back, have a scroll through. There has been an attempt to make it better but it's even worse!

Anonymous said...

Sorry different pic but there is a bad bit of shadow work I rekon

flink said...

LOLOLOL

That's horrible. If I had that shadow, I'd be making my shadow eat air pies for a few months.

They should simply bite the bullet and take down that pic. It's better than having the poor YL become a laughing stock.

flink said...

Gack. I looked again. I'd be really embarrassed to post that picture. I know there's only so much you can do, but come one. That's one poor photo fix. They should have asked someone on FARK.COM for expert advice.

Anonymous said...

I would be really annoyed that they had done that to me. If they wanted her in their mag they should have been happy with her as she was.

anyone did that to a pic of me and i'd be after em to give em a slap for being so rude

flink said...

As you say. That is fairly insulting. After all, if all they want is pretty face, they had that without the botched editing. Perhaps providing her with an outfit in her own size would have helped, too.

She may be a couple sizes large, but if she's happy, so am I.
