Sarah Connor Chronicles: I'll Be Background

In this episode they have to go back in the image history to a time when the comping wasn't hilariously bad.

Thanks to Darren!

I dont like how skinny theyve made Sarah's right arm. Im sure that that stick would break if she actually fired that gun. And what is the light source that illuminates the right side of her body but not her right arm? Something in her armpit perhaps?

I honestly don't understand why they can't just take a picture of her in the street.

They look...really tall.

Covarr said...

"If we add decent shadows, than nobody will notice the broken light sources, or the fact that these people are 15 feet tall."

I like how tiny little Summer Glau is taller than Jahn Connah. That, and making Lena Headley look about 25.

I want to know how the tart's twig-like arms manage to rack that 12-gauge. I realize that's not a Photoshop issue, but I'm still left with a strong scent of WTF.

Lighting... all wrong! What ever happened to ACTUALLY doing a photoshoot and not using the crop tool?

The original shots were done in a white box. That's why all the harsh highlights from all angles...

As for her arm.. i know it's not that skinny.

I do give them credit for at least making the attempt with shadows.

But if you see all commercials and add's from terminator the series, you see one thing. anyone have any ideia about photoshop...

Look at the shadow of the girl on the right - looks an awful lot like a male appendage to meeeeeeee :)

"Quick, we need a suitably gritty urban background for this shot!"
"Umm... I know! I'll pop outside the studio and take a picture of the street. That should do."
"Okay, but make sure you take a shot from the correct angle and try to get the streetlights positioned so it doesn't look completely fake and stupid."
"I'm back - were you saying something?"

the shadows are hilarious somehow. it looked as if they're floating

it is hard to believe fox would allow a flagship show to have this happen and go to press...especially with images used in other promos.
I think this is a fake made for the merit of putting it up on this blog :)

I can spot two mistakes in this picture. Lena Headey and Thomas Dekker... You only need Summer Glau <3

...there's a Fox 11 now?? They don't have enough decent shows to merit one channel...

Those are what's known as "local affiliates." How's things treating you out from under that rock you've apparently been under for 40 years?

uf, i've seen interns do a better job.

dude, you're lookin at the background?

Why is this image almost a year old?

Current Resident said...

This would have looked cooler if they just left it with the original stark white background.

Dalrick, I suspect James I McAnespy might be from Britain, where they name their channels BBC1, BBC2, etc., and he may not understand the concept of "local affiliates." He might think there are actually 11 or more Fox channels for each cable subscriber.

Looking at this photo is like having 3D glasses on.

Thomas W, on the same vein, I think the picture would look more natural if she'd be holding a guitar instead of the gun.

For me it's all about Sarah's feet and the kneeling knee. They tell you that the photo was taken at a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT angle than the street scene. I mean, is she floating there? What?

There are people who think that there are parallels between this pic (advertising a show on Fox 11) and Fox News.

wow! this photo sucks!
first of all, the lighting is all wrong: orangy lights on the street, white lights on the bodys... whatevar, the two on the background have some sort of light source on theire back, what source is it? etc, etc...
second, the girl with the gun has her left leg standing on her left foot's heel?! thats weird...
third, the 3 of them look like giants.
fourth, the shadows.... yuck!

fifth, not actualy a disaster but, where the hell have all the cars gone?!

fippss said...

david-

they stepped on the cars and crushed them with their ridiciulously big feet. Duh.

Mario said...

I can't even call this an attempt to do a good job...

fippss-

oh! now i get it... :p

this is fan created. it was submitted for a poster competition on fox.com. you can see all offical posters for the show here: http://www.impawards.com/tv/terminator_the_sarah_connor_chronicles.html

this was not even the worst submission.

Even if the angles, lighting proportions were improved... there's still the girls on the righthandside's enoromous manhood as seen in her shadow.

Evergrey said...

Haha, also, while I love the series, she doesn't look strong enough to even lift the guns and stuff she carries around. She's emaciated and she has no muscle. Probably starving herself to be "acceptably thin" for TV made her body consume it's muscle mass to try to stay alive. It's sad because she is supposed to be an all kinds of buff and tough character, not a fainting little flower.
