Big heads and even bigger HAIR!

Elefanteneier said...

I know this guy. It's Jimmy Neutron.

ImTheAdult said...

YES! Elefanteneier is right! It's Jimmy Neutron!

ramcosca said...

I think the big head was the point of this. "The continuing education of..."? It only seems obvious.

Javi said...

Remembers me the old SEGA soccer game from arcades!

Tom said...

I don't see it...
Sure, his haircut is ridiculous, but that's material for Failblog, right?

KurtMac said...

While it is possible that this dude simply has a ginormous cranial cavity, my g/f pointed this one out on a magazine rack on how ridiculous it looked, 'shopped or not.

almexxx said...

Why would you destroy something so beautiful?!

Lindsey said...

The moment that popped up I yelled out loud "THAT IS SCARY!!!" I don't think that that is the reaction they were going for.

Current Resident said...

I'm GLAD his hair looks like that. I'm so tired of his usual "long straight wig worn sideways" look!

Guys of the world, cut your hair short! The long "sideways wig" look is officially OUT!

Jesse. said...

I'm preeeety sure that that's how his natural head is. BIG.

The Sophisticate's Diary said...

I hardly think it beyond the realm of possibility that this is the result of photography. You know, the important stuff that happens before the photoshop stuff.

Why does the shtoopid blog keep deleting line breaks in my comment?

Nachtwaechter said...

Its approximately the size a head must have to contain all the pain caused by this kind of "artwork"

wiso said...

@pootpoot: 4 fingers in the left hand!

Miss Psychosexy said...

I was waiting for this photo to be on this blog, the size of that head is so funny. The first time I saw it I was like "ok...that's NOT normal..." and no, his head doesn't look like that in real life, and I don't think anyone's does

@ wiso
you can see the thumb almost (but not completely) covered by the fabric

Marrock said...

I saw that one at the store and thought they got a new guy to play "Little Bit O'Luck" (http://tinyurl.com/ded6mv) in the new york lottery commercials.

Jamie Corbin said...

Most of the time you get some great disasters on here, but this has just been shot with a wide angle lens at head height quite close up.

Which gives: Surprise - a large head on a smaller body!

(Though if I could grow that hair, I'd make sure it was the most prominent feature in any photo of me!)

Nikki said...

Holy crap that looks weird!

djib said...

Well, as ugly as it can be, this is obviously made on purpose.
Some people things like this are "funny". (yes the same people that use Comic Sans).
Not a PsD.

Nikki said...

Ugh, there's one inside that's even more disturbing! Found a pic here:

Katie said...

is it just me or does his right arm look messed up (mutilated or elvin) as well? maybe I'm just making things up...

girlrat said...

I thought this was Malcolm in the Middle for a second. His head really IS that big.

pootpoot said...

"@pootpoot: 4 fingers in the left hand!"Sure, the thumb is covered by the fabric and by the button he's holding between index finger and thumb. Not every finger we can't see has been photoshopped away.

Bill said...

LMAO!!!

My wife and I just saw this in the store and PD was the first thing I thought of. Then to find this when I get home?

Priceless.

Austen said...

I know why Efron is in continuing education. For mysterious reasons, he can only count to nine.

Muninn said...

Photoshop is used to (try) to make things look better- longer legs and trimmer waists on fashion models; smooth, poreless skin in porn; artificially enhanced, impossibly shiny, bouncy ringlets in hair product advertisements.
If his head truly is that big in real life, then this is a Photoshop-Disaster-by-omission. Even a copy-paste hack job that was just a little smaller would look better than that planetoid.

It's like Sputnik- spherical, but quite pointy at parts.

Wholeflaffer said...

To clear this up: the fingers on his left hand (not you, the person looking at the screen) seem to be have had the pinky and ring finger smooshed together. PD disaster #2, a far second to the ginormous noggin.

Ebony McKenna. said...

AAAARRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHH!

Zac was on Graham Norton a few weeks ago and looked normal. What have they DONE!?!?

Bilby P. Dalgyte said...

The explanation: his head grows with his career. If he's still around in 5-10 years he'll be nicknamed Blimpboy and be in different kinds of movies that he is now... but then his screaming fan girls wont care and so his career will dwindle until his head has deflated...

Ty said...

Just imagine if they did this to George Lopez!

ZaphodQB said...

Jamie Corbin, if this was, as you say, taken with a wide angle lens shot at head height, then the resulting "small body" relative to the head, would get increasingly smaller the further away (towards his feet) from the lens it got.

Jim said...

Slightly off topic but why do ads always show men's suits so damn tight? It looks like the models can barely breathe.

roballen said...

this is so obviously WRONG is looks like an intentional fail...a joke...did this appear on April 1, by any chance?

Lisa said...

Wow that is freaky! He could so put his whole hand in his mouth. Don't know why he would want to, but just saying.

morgedoid said...

Great magazine cover! stands out. photoshop used to full effect, great job.

now show us some PsD. :(

N. said...

It's called abstract photography, no disaster here, move along people.

tome said...

What an ineffectual half assed attempt at a concept. We'll make his head big. But not too big. You know, like a subtle unsubtle joke that we'll timidly throw up. Not enough to make a point, but just enough to look complete rubbish.

"You're fired".

You know what they say about men with big heads...

...that they're poorly photographed with a bad body angle?

A Clockwork Orange said...

i think the angle where the photo was taken + Efron's really huge hair is making his head look literally big.

Hero Paperboy said...

I'd agree this isn't a disaster. IN fact, I met Jude Law, and this is what his head-to-body proportion is. No joke.

Garett said...

I simply don't understand things like this. Is it that hard to just TAKE A F*CKING PICTURE?

Jérem' said...

Not a PSD. But what's with his hair?

Lindsey said...

If this was a result of photography, wouldn't his body get smaller and smaller as you looked down the page? His body is a consistent size, only his head is huge, so I still call this a photoshop disaster. It is possible to take a picture in a way that makes the head look large, but I don't think that was done here.

MSK said...

To everybody saying this is no PsD, please look at this and tell which one looks better.

http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/5112/fakevsreal.jpg

I don't care whether this is a PsD or a PsD-by-omission like Muninn said, but that picture looks too weird to be on the front cover of GQ.

GuĂĄnder GuĂłman! said...

Oh my gosh! Poor guy!

I bet the Photoshop "artist" was a father tired of his daughter's craze about HSM! Haha!

ZaphodQB said...

Hero Paperboy, what does Jude Laws' head size got to do with this picture?

Miranda said...

Bad hair and ugly clothes for stupid times!

Way to make the guy look like a giant douche, magazine people!

He has the biggest hands ever too...totaly freak...looks like a toy.

sarasel said...

This look MUCH more ridiculous in real life. All who are saying this is not a PSD, go look at the real cover in a store.

karen cantĂș said...

He kind of reminds me of Jude Law in this photo. Its... something about it.

And, well, I think the suit is also terribly photoshopped, that texture looks so FAKE.

Crazed said...

"He kind of reminds me of Jude Law in this photo. Its... something about it."

Huh, you're right!

I don't think the head itself was made bigger in Photoshop, I just think it's some really, *REALLY* weird angles. As for the textures... well, that's a different story.

da2one9rikan said...

Is it possible that the guy just has a HUGE head?!?

N. said...

I suppose any abstract photography qualifies for a PSD then ...

Personally I think it works quite well, its a bold, persuasive image, no disastrous photoshop work either. (the most you could qualify it as is a creative directing fail, but that's pretty subjective, and their director probably knows better than you); don't be too quick to flame just because its posted on the blog; I think the monalisa would be ripped to shreds by you jackels.

Louise said...

I don't think it was shot with a wide angle lens, as if that were the case, there would be more distortion of the facial features. I have used this effect.

Well seems like that's what all the cool kids are doing now:
http://www.tutcast.com/photoshop-enlarge-your-head/

Jeff said...

I'm placing another vote for this not being just a wide angle shot. I'm pretty sure that doing this in a wide angle shot alone would distort the face a lot more than that (big nose effect) and make the body look like it's bending away from the camera a lot more than that. Anything done with a real camera and real poses to counteract that effect would still look ridiculous.

Whoever did that, I'm sure it wasn't a PsD. It's probably just him.
