This is from some in-store campaign possibly in Poland but I'm not so sure that I would put money on it because well you know people sometimes just send me email with no text as if I were psychic or perhaps kept some underemployed detective agency under my desk or maybe they think no one cares about where these things come from but they do and that's the trouble but thanks all the same Damian hey a clue would be nice just saying oh her leg is totally screwed up in case you hadn't spotted it already.

And as PSDs go, that's big.
dammit
she's ruptured an air cell
those things are so damn hard to fix.
also, right hand? wtf is going on there? is it just partially buried in the sand?
looks fucked up in any case.
It's not impossible, but the only way I can see of doing in real life is if that's her left leg, and she's dislocated her hip.
Ok, who's girlfriend can do this?
(you know it's coming)
I can do that. Really.
Regarding the photo, though, I think it's merely awkward positioning: her left leg is under her right leg, crossed; her right hand is bent down, behind the sand and her left hand on leaning on her right hand...
Does look odd though, and that should have been enough to persuade them to alter it. Or not say "yes" to it.
punctuation would be nice too, teehee.
yes, this got to be Poland. or Belarus. or Ukraine. somewhere close to Chernobyl.
It's all a bit creepy; like she may do a frightening crab-scuttle across the ceiling at any moment.
It's not a disaster. I know lots of Polish girls who can deflate their thighs.
Lucy, no way you can do that... lol.
Unless your knees are 5 feet away from your shoulders. Thus making you seven or eight feet tall with barbie like proportions, and a completely dislocated hip.
Locate both her knees in the photograph, they are easily a foot or more apart, but should be touching if she were simply crossing her legs. Obviously one of her legs is a few feet longer than the other.
Possible explanation... they most likely cropped the photo, or set it up having her legs cut off initially, but needed extra space to fill the billboard. So they cropped in legs from a different image in the series.
Lucy is right, except for the fact that her left leg is over her right leg.
nice roast beef impersonation.
Good God!!!!!
Or.. somehow her ass exploded.
w/v: lawnimi
(turf, rice and seaweed)
That is totally plausible. Her right leg is only very slightly bent, but her left leg is bent over her right. She's just really skinny, that's all.
PSD fail :/
No, this one just doesn't make sense. No matter how I bend my left leg, my right thigh doesn't get any longer. And I could really use a couple extra inches in height.
If I cover up the right panel, it looks like a normal photo with a bent knee (probably left) under the dress. Uncover the left panel and there's another knee much further down. She'd have to be pulling her left knee up toward her chest and it doesn't look like she's doing that.
this blog is like a a good laugh of the day for me-- i wish you posted stuff on the weekends tooo!!!
I guess this one isn't a disaster, just a bad photo, her right foot is on top of the left (crossed her leg to wish us ...) ;)
That is Natalia Vodianova, a gorgeous model, who does not have deformed legs. She can, however, make one of them longer than the other (temporarily) to make walking around the Ural Mountains in her homeland a bit easier. She can do it with either leg depending whether she is walking clockwise or counter-clockwise on the side slope.
She simply forgot to return them to their normal, equal length before this photo shoot and no one noticed until 8,000,000 subway posters had been printed and distributed.
My girlfriend can't do that but yomomma can.

I love that there are people who think this is real.
As an artist who has had their fair share of life drawing classes and anatomy tuition, I can say that it looks possible, just a very badly composed photo. She's crossing her legs and because you cant see her hips it's hard to tell which one is which. It doesn't help that she's lanky as hell. I'd redline it but I don't have my graphics tablet right now :(
I love that there are people who think this is a disaster.
Stephanie -
You are on crack.
This is about as non-possible as you can get.
Putting the top leg to one side (as perhaps somebody did), the way that bottom one goes off for a holiday in Poland and then re-emerges at an unexpected angle some distance away looks more like a feat of undersea tunnelling than something performed by humans.
There it is coming out of a hip all normal and the next thing you know it's popping up at a cracking angle.
If this is 'really skinny' then let's have some more beef on my plate thanks.
This is my interpretation of how she is laying there... BTW, I claim no expertise at this, it's just what it looks like to me.
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c203/Akedos/mysterymeat.jpg
If that is the case then either (as illustrated) 1.) That is a huge pile of cloth that is in fact not her hip but is just an unfortunate pile of clothes. Or 2.) She is missing an entire part of her leg. Someone else draw up a quick skeleton so I can see what you are talking about.
LOL, there's no way this can be real, look at the above post and you'll see this womans legs have been heavily worked on. As others have said, unless one of her legs is both twisted and a good couple of feet longer than the other this is impossible ... if you believe otherwise please get a picture of yourself or a friend in the same position. Go on, I dare you :p
re the drawing/pic of Mykel: the bottom (as seen) of her pelvis is much lower than you seem to think it is, and also her right hip-bone starts lower than in the drawing. The way she sits and crosses her legs, the pelvis is not vertical (as seen) but inclined to the left (this happens when you cross legs).
As far as the perceived difference in length of her two hip-bones goes, it's an issue of perspective. You see a truck sideways, and you see the same truck coming towards you. They are the same length, but they don't seem to be.
All you people who think this is NOT a PsD need to back away from the crack pipe!
but this is natural, not a disaster ...
This pose is easily achieved by absolutely anyone after a little major irreversible surgery and disposal of the discarded limb.

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c203/Akedos/mysterymeat-1.jpg
Okay, check out this one.
Hips relocated, legs remapped... but she would still have to corkscrew her legs around each other to achieve this result and one would have to be significantly longer than the other. The visible knee is simply too far away from her body and angled improperly to be where it is.
no, no way it is real. this is just wrong. i have not studied anatomy, but looked at people enough to say it's impossible.
I really like this blog for some of the truly bad pieces of work. This one, I think, suffers only from some unfortunate awkward cropping on top of a twisty pose by the model.
If you start by removing the perspective distortion on the photo itself and then draw through the figure tracing construction lines, you can see the magenta left leg crosses over the cyan right leg. The cocked yellow pelvis supports the overlap.
The rest is the horizon line and not seeing much of the solidity of her calves. She looks pretty twiggy to begin with as well.
Image here
Yeah, Mykel got it, too. Didn't see that before.
Scott--
You're right.
Her right femur is as long her entire upper body.
http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/tt203/hepppp/notshopped.jpg
I saw it, and I instantly said, "I can take that picture." I'm not saying it's not awkward, just that it's not photoshopped.
$GOD bless you, Kyle, for providing proof for what should be obvious from the start to all. Thank you.
Thanks Kyle. Yep, I'll admit this pose is totally plausible, yet enough people find this so horrible that it was a bad choice. I did an overlay of the image you have there and the bill board and they line up okay-ish... good enough to say it's do able. But dang what an ugly pose.
Well done!
So it involves having a hip go 'underground'. Which really wasn't such a great idea.
Hooray for Kyle! I was totally going to go try this out as soon as I got done reading comments, but your picture even better.
She's very Brooke Shields-y.
Wrong Kyle.
In your image the knee is on top of the ankle/foot which is clearly not the case in the picture in question. Her knee is clearly on top of her calf, a pose you still have not been able to achieve.
I'm agreeing with Zaphod. Kyle's photo shows how you'd twist to achieve a similar pose. I've done yoga and trust me lots of things are possible. But the problem isn't that she's pretzeling her legs, it's that one leg truly does appear to be longer than the other in that photo.
Oh, a yoga instructor could probably manage something close, but why, outside of a yoga demonstration, would you want such a strange looking pose?
The image is stretched
Look hereI'm not good at that, but i think, it's obvious.
boelwerkr
you are still missing the point.
her knee is on top of her calf NOT on top of the ankle/foot as in kyle's image.
Now, I will also grant that with a little effort you can get that knee up onto the calf while it is crossed behind the other leg, BUT you can not, then make the knee bend sideways so that it lays down along the other leg while it is up there on the calf.
The bottom line it that her pose is just not possible.
Without another joint between her hip and her knee, I don't know how she could manage this pose.
Her thigh is too long!
I'll admit Kyle's photo is close, but the knee is not on her ankle, and the knee is facing up (as it should be) not forward, as it is in the picture.
wv: saxild
It's ok, guys and gals, it's hard to admit you were wrong, especially after you used derisive and ironic comments (e.g. crack and crackpipes). It's all a matter of ego and pride.
In case you truly believe that you still are right and this pose is physically impossible, try perhaps going on a trip to Eastern Europe. There are lots of girls there qualified to replicate this pose. Otherwise, keep on believing it; the picture was sent to PSD and posted, ergo by definition it must be a PSD.
It's time for me to acknowledge the fact that I have an allergy to dead horses and go on with normal life.
does she also have 1 crazy looking eye???
@ Kyle
Thanks - I consider myself schooled.
It really doesn't look possible at all... and I thought I'd met some pretty bendy women...
But respect where it's due.
wv: papitan
I know wvs are a bit tedious, but I like them when they are words which don't exist, but which I think should. Perhaps we could start by defining a papitan [n] as someone who was utterly convinced that an image has been photoshopped because the model's pose is physically impossible, only to discover publicly later on that they don't know as much about anatomy as they thought they did.
Kyle's image comes close but when I look at the comparison between the two in Boelwerker's demonstration, it looks to me like the two poses vary in position of the bottom leg, which is the part that looks weird in the ad. The hips and knees are in the same position as the model's but not the legs. It's the legs that throw me off. I don't doubt the girl can twist her hips.
To knee or not to knee.
*screams*
The severed zombie leg has come back to kill!
I don't think it's a matter of folks being too "proud" to admit that the picture isn't a wreck, I think it's that some of us are sick of seeing every post declared as not shopped, followed by complaints about the blog not being any good anymore.
Seriously, folks, whether or not one of you can pretzel yourself into this shape, can't you just be satisfied that it's a completely ridiculous poster?
Whether or not the pose is possible (and I don't believe it is), who would publish this unless they were trying to creep people out.
I see a suspicious break in the sky just above her top leg near the right fold line. Could that be a join?
Kyle: you're missing a foot! Shopped! ;-)
Great proof.
wv: kings, subso
Thats to all of you who backed me up. You guys keep claiming that her knee is on her calf, but you don't KNOW that, because the bottom half of her leg is hidden. It could very well be her ankle, and in Kyle's photo, its NOT right on top of her ankle, its a little above.
I agree its a weird pose and all, and might be shopped for blemishes and lighting, but the pose is real. (I want to point out that the original picture looks skewed, like someone took a photo of it at an angle. That might be causing some to freak out about it)
I love women with knees a few inches above where their ankle should be. Hot!
One other discrepancy between the Original and Kyle's photo, which I don't *think* has been mentioned yet, is that if you follow the line from Kyle's upward-pointing knee to hip, it bisects the opposite leg directly at the bend in the downward-pointing knee. In the original, following the same along the leg from upward-pointing knee to hip, it bisects the opposite leg at the calf. While the pose may not be shopped, exactly, it certainly appears to have been stretched. Or else she has one disconcertingly long, mismatched leg buried halfway in the sand.
i think her legs were skewed a little long from the knees and below, otherwise this pose is possible
Chances are, the first thing passerby will think when seeing this picture is NOT "oh, that picture looks totally plausible." They'll think, "that doesn't look right." If you have to analyze the picture to understand it, it's not worthy of being published. Isn't that the point of a PSD?
This is a "disaster" in my book.
Good police work there, Kyle and Mykel. I was convinced it was a chop until I saw those pics. Good fun reading this thread as it developed.
There is one major difference between Kyle's image and the original. In Kyle's, and I'm really surprised no one has seen this, you see the foot in the image. This is natural, as if you bend one leg, the foot will move closer to the hip. However, in the original, the leg continues on out of the image, and it does not show the ankle. In fact, you can almost see the end of the right leg at the far right corner of the photo, which would make her legs very different lengths, which is obviously not the case. Also, both the right knee AND leg are disproportionately small. This is not a real pose, and there was definitely work done to it.
UP TO WAIST EVERY THING IS OK....BUT LOWER PART IS SOMEWHAT CLUMSY....
Of course, nobody mentions the eyes.
I know I'm getting in on this late, but this pose is absolutely possible.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v607/phwbt1/Untitled-1.jpg
"But we can see your ankle"
Just look at how freakishly long her limbs are. That's why she is a model and average schmoes like us aren't.
"But what about how long your right leg is compared to how short her right leg is?"
It's called perspective, kiddos. I realize I should have bent my right leg a bit more after the knee to give it the illusion of being shorter, but I thought it was pretty good for having my camera on a 10 second timer.
She actually looks like Australian Model Miranda Kerr. Agree that left leg is on top but not possible to have a right knee that is that low...
Isn't that Erika Eleniak?
The last time i saw her in some movie she had 2 working legs...
