I don't know how to use Photoshop. I'm beginning to think that I could totally get a job retouching photos for Ralph Lauren.
I find it astounding that they expect people to look at these distorted images and accept them as being normal. They are extremely ugly by anyone's standards. I am waiting for them to say that it was done purposely to look distorted as I can't understand how a fashion company would want their clothes to look so ugly. It doesn't take an expert to see that the rib cage is far too small, not only the hips. Ralph Lauren is the loser anyway, cos their clothes are not appealing.
This makes her head look alien-like as well as giving her man shoulders. Which really doesn't achieve its purpose in marketing however skinny the waist, This is very much fail on a marketing scale however often publicity even negative does have its advantages. although not preferable, take celebrity publicity stunts for example. All in all though the photo does not entice a responder to by the clothes, in fact in making the shoulders odd porportions it takes away from the appeal of the clothes as the sense of glamour, if you will, or class which RL is associated with, is lost

This girl is 5'9". She should weigh MORE than 120. Her BONES should weigh more than 120, unless they're so calcium-deficient they've turned porous.
I swear, they all lie about their weight anyway. I'm 5'2", and the last time I weighed 120, the whole world asked me if I was OK, because I looked like death. And yet I see healthy-looking, medium-boned, slender (like I was) taller and fit women with real muscles (which weigh more than fat) claim 110, 105, 115....
RL prides himself on being "High End." Well, the PS'ed model is not only grotesquely misproportioned, somehow they've managed to make her look slightly trashy.
I, too, blame the gay man designers who want the boys & girls to look alike, so they import starved Slavic middle schoolers to be their female models.

Crazy thing about that Aussie RL site is that they have two different versions of the same image posted in different parts of the site. ONe is reasonably real looking and the other is the freaks version. See here for comparison shots.

They try to make them thinner to be more "attractive" right? then photoshop them to be thinner... so... surely there are competent people out there at photoshop... so women don't NEED to be thinner. But thinner is less attractive anyway and... trying to make them thinner with photoshop obviously makes them look deformed so... so...

I get the impression that Fitness Forever is an 8 year old spammer.
Somebody once explained to me that models are so thin because clothing looks best on a hanger. When you get thin enough, clothes hang on you as they do on a hanger. I guess if they can't find women who are as thin as a piece of wire, they have to 'shop them. Or should I say, Ralph Lauren them.
This is actually more ghastly than the last Laurened photo.
On both The Colbert Report & The Phil Hendrie radio show the original Laurened photo was shown/talked about and the criticism it has received. Apparently the model was fired for being too fat.

If ever I have a daughter, "Spot the Photoshop" will certainly be a bonding activity! There aren't enough women out there who are above all of this BS. Hopefully that can be changed. :)

Great job to all you folks that took the original images and created the animations. Well done! My favorite thing to look at is the zipper. In the original picture (which probably already had been 'shopped), the flap is partially open, then...whooosh...it's closed!
Question: at what point does image alteration become false advertisement? This is not a photo of an actual product anymore, it's an imaginary creation. It;s not "enhanced", it's been deceptively re-created.

"They fired me because they said I was overweight and I couldn't fit in their clothes anymore," she said.
