Campari: Incampariable

Was this a not-gay-enough/too-gay battle between marketing and art? Or does Olga Kurylenko have really floppy legs?

Props to RMP! Bigger version here!

the legs look like they belong on an octopus! Also, the two guys look heavily airbrushed, they look like paintings and not from a real photo.

come on, people. Is it really hard to take a simple photo in the studio with models and let's leave it at that?!?!

I hate Photoshop...

This site is becoming lamer by the day ... no big deal with this picture.

@pommi, really? So, you reckon Olga Kurylenko has size 13 feet, then, do you?

I don't know this Olga Kurylenko. Does anyone know if it's true that she wears a built-up right shoe in real life to compensate for the fact that her hip joint is level with her navel?

And unless Olga's boyfriend himself wishes to come on here to disclose something about his sweetheart's physical capabilities, is it worth seeing if we can all, you know, try really hard not... ?

Too bad. I really like drinking negronis.

Olga Kurylenko may have size 13 (or larger--a lot larger apparently) feet; she may have calves with no muscles definition that are as incredibly long, even for someone with size 13 feet; she may even live in a different dimension from the rest of us and thereby appear in an ad in a space that she brings with her explaining why her image is looks just stuck in there.

But it is impossible to say that she has any interest in who wins the arm wrestling contest and wants to get enough Campari to get blotto and forget this entire horrible time/space bending nightmare.

Did you see her fingers on the October image?

http://moondogsports.com/2009/10/08/olga-kurylenko-is-the-2010-campari-calendar-model/?pid=18924

Wow. The entire calendar looks like screen captures from some slutty video game.

Gamebird said...

I didn't think there was anything in the whole picture that was "real".

Bethany--

I guess the Campari Calender won't be much competition for that other Italian calendar, Pirelli.

So here's the legs that were missing from the last post. They sure get around.

Tightly wound greasy angst. Not one happy person. Why are they marketing this stuff as the preferred drink of people like this?

My Uncle Harry wants those shoes. Uncle Harry is, in his own turn, also wanted.

This is simply what happens at the edges of pictures taken with a wide-angle lens. Things look distorted. If there's a disaster here, it's that they DIDN'T use Photoshop to fix it.

Nitrowolf said...

This looks like lens abberation or a perspective problem, not a Photoshop problem.

I think the poster saying "bitter camp" essentially sums up this poster. Also, unless the guys are twins haven't they just been cloned?

I don't know about floppy legs on the woman, but the whole damn' thing looks waaaaayyyy too airbrushed.

Perhaps somewhere deep down is an actual photograph of actual people, but by the time the retouch artist finished with it, it looked more like Poser art than an actual foto.

That's the real disaster here, if you ask me.

She probably just a small owl.

Agree, this site is reaching. Just don't post if you can't find a good one to post. Simple

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this whole photo looked fake. They look like mannequins or something.

I think the twins are arm-wrestling to see who gets to set poor Olga's dislocated heel.

Cesare said...

Some of you have apparently never seen a human woman cross her legs before, or you would see the disaster here.

When a woman crosses her bare legs (or legs in hose) at the point of contact between the limbs, both legs flatten a little where they press together.

That isn't happening in this picture. The two legs aren't touching each other. Either Olga is carefully holding her upper leg just so above the lower leg, and also has no knees... or the upper leg was pasted in from another image and composited in Photoshop, DISASTROUSLY.

Chrysinthe said...

I have to point out that it is possible that Olga's large feet could be the result of a wide angle lens, but then the square thingy she has her feet on would be more distorted, and the two guys would be even more so. I am quite familiar with wide angle lenses.

And to all the posters who find this not to be a disaster, do you ever actually LOOK at real people? Ever? I'm thinking this is a combination CGI/Photoshop disaster. The arm wrestlers look straight out of Poser. I'm wondering if Olga's face was pasted into a completely computer generated scene.

I gotta admit, the OCTOBER image is an even better disaster! I especially love the reflections... ;)

The entire calendar looked much better on Compari's website. Where did they find all those creepy male and female models to pose with Olga?
It seemed a little butch Anime.
The main problem is that you need a lot more "Woman". Wasn't Padma Lashmi or another truly sexy voluptuous woman available? The Campari calendar needs a young Sophia Loren enjoying her Compari to dominate the scene with sophistication and sensuality.

I love this blog for the comments...

Not only the legs, look how long her feet are! They are disproportionate...

Gabriel Dias said...

The whole calender is a disaster!

What's the point of hiring models, photographers and etc., if the final result could be done directly (and more cheaply, I guess) on a computer, using CG?

Those """photos""" really hurt the eyes.

Actually Val, I think Terry Gilliam does still live...

Robert said...

I absolutely cannot see what they did here or what they thought they were doing.
I mean - the feet look fine. What must have been wrong about the upper part of the legs that led to this disaster?
My fellow commeters were also right about the whole calender. The images are so airbrushed that I wouldn't even call them photos anymore.

Chris said...

Yeah, I'd say that this is completely computer generated and doesn't really qualify as a photoshop because it isn't really a photo.

Anna said...

oh and since when the Sims are advertising for Campari?

Chrysinthe said...

On reflection:
CGI is not cheap.
Shoots with actual people are not cheap (especially with a fairly complex set, and what IS that set supposed to represent? A very large pantry?).
This could be a Photoshop disaster (smoothed to unreality) or a CGI disaster (but why?) but either way, it's firmly located in the Uncanny Valley.

And Olga's legs do look very strange. (Many people actually have knees.)

And I don't really like Campari, either.

Button Ginger said...

I used to have a doll that did something similar to this.

It was some Sindy knock off and was trying to be classy, but instead of specific joints, it was clearly thick wire wrapped up in moulded rubbery plastic limbs.

There was no specific knee joint (or elbows for that matter) and really hated the bloody thing as the smell from the cheap plastic wafted across the room from a closed cupboard.

Just why on earth did someone do that to the picture and think it was okay?

Colin said...

Fascinating.

Start with a spectacularly detailed 50 megapixel Hasselblad image, finish with people with broken musculature, no joints, and no skin or hair texture.
